Tight connections, proper refrigerant charge, clean lines. Second-generation standards — the same way Tim built the business.
One System.
Year-Round
Comfort.
A heat pump handles both heating and cooling from a single system. In summer it moves heat out of your home like a standard air conditioner. In winter it reverses the process — pulling heat from outside air and moving it in.
Modern heat pumps work effectively in a wide range of outdoor temperatures, including climates like Northern California's with hot summers and cool winters. Whether you're looking at a central ducted system or a ductless mini-split for a room addition or retrofit, Menini HVAC can size and install the right fit for your home or building.
- Heating & cooling in one unit
- Ducted or ductless options
- Single-zone & multi-zone
- Residential & commercial
- New construction & retrofit
- All major brands serviced

Installs

The Indoor Half
Of Your System
An air handler is the indoor unit that circulates conditioned air through your home or building when paired with a heat pump. Getting it right — properly matched, correctly installed, and well-maintained — is just as critical as the outdoor unit.
What an Air Handler Does
The air handler contains the blower motor, evaporator coil, and air filter — the components responsible for moving conditioned air through your ductwork. When the heat pump runs, the air handler pulls air from your home, passes it over the coil (which heats or cools it depending on the season), and delivers it back into the living space. In heating mode, the coil absorbs heat from the refrigerant; in cooling mode, it absorbs heat from your indoor air.
Matching Matters
A heat pump and air handler must be properly matched by the manufacturer's specifications. Mismatched equipment — even when both units are high quality on their own — leads to reduced efficiency, premature wear, and potential warranty issues. Menini HVAC specifies equipment as a complete matched system, not individual components thrown together.
Variable-Speed Blowers
Modern air handlers use variable-speed or multi-stage blower motors that modulate airflow based on demand. Rather than running at full blast and cycling off, a variable-speed unit runs longer at lower speeds — maintaining steadier temperatures, reducing humidity better, and operating more quietly. Most of the preferred brands Menini installs offer variable-speed air handler options across their product lines.
Air Handler vs. Furnace Air Handler
In some homes, the heat pump is paired with a gas furnace rather than a standalone air handler — this is called a dual-fuel system. The furnace blower handles air distribution, while the heat pump handles the refrigerant cycle. Menini HVAC can evaluate your existing setup and advise on whether an air handler replacement or a dual-fuel configuration makes the most sense for your home.
Installation & Sizing
Air handler installation involves mounting the unit in the attic, closet, utility room, or basement — wherever the existing or planned ductwork originates. The unit must be level, properly supported, and connected with correctly sized supply and return ducts. Refrigerant line connections and electrical hookup are completed at the air handler, along with drain line routing for condensate. Menini HVAC handles all of this as part of a complete system installation.
